Some residents of a village adjacent to the Virunga National Forest in the Democratic Republic of Congo have killed and eaten an elephant that came out of the forest.
Forest teachers mentioned the residents of the village called Katwiguru, who are full of joy saying that “this is like meat from heaven, they have never had anything like this in their life because they are so happy for sure.”
The forest conservation group posted on their Twitter page that it is not clear whether the elephant was killed by the rebels or the villagers as they reported in the news we received.
