
Gunmen kidnapped five brides during the 2023 festival
Some bandits invaded a town called Sukola in Bakori local government of Katsina state in the last week where they kidnapped six (6) people including five (5) brides. Our source, Premium Times, reported that a resident of Sukola, who asked to remain anonymous, disclosed this. According to him, the bride’s girls are not from the town of Sukola, but their towns are near the town and they came to perform the wedding ceremony.

The resident of the area named the women who were abducted, including Maryam Sani, Maijidda Kabir, Abida Matthew and Maryam Ibrahim, and one of whom he said he did not know her name. He said the bandits entered the town of Sukola at around 11 o’clock that night and ate their dog before the police officers arrived after they left. The Public Relations Officer of the Katsina State Police Force, ASP Sadiq Abubakar confirmed the incident and said that their officers are still investigating.
