The Kano State Government has selected 1001 students to start sponsoring postgraduate studies abroad as it has done in the past. While some will do their studies in India, others in Uganda will do their various courses in the fields of bomb and bomb. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf launched the Foreign Scholarship Program, which started on Thursday with the transport of 550 students from Kano.

Kabir said that those who went abroad to study under the Kwankwaso government are being taken advantage of and benefited, where some are holding positions in the government and other fields of daily activities. He listed others including the Commissioner for Advanced Education, Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim, the Head of Kano State Department of Demography, Prof. Aliyu Isa Aliyu and the Special Adviser on Innovation, Dr. Bashir Muzakkir and others. The governor said, “Let me explain that this scholarship program was created by our leader, Senator Rabi’u Kwankwaso.” He said Kwankwaso had to take responsibility for three groups of students to 16 different countries. “This effort has resulted in the successful production of doctors, masters and thousands of medical professionals, engineers, pilots and ship management experts and others. In his speech earlier, Kwankwaso thanked the government of Abba Kabir, seeing how it has continued the good works that it started when he was the Governor of Kano. He urged the students to be ethical and good ambassadors of Kano and Nigeria wherever they find themselves. Many students thanked the Kano Government, Governor Abba and Kwankwaso. Before their departure, Governor Abba Kabir handed over his allowance of dollars to everyone, they were called to a meeting at the Government House, and the Governor and Kwankwaso escorted them to the plane. Abba and Kwankwaso did not leave Malam Aminu Kano airport until they saw the departure of the plane that took the students.
